Azkar Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

Azkar is a mobile app that displays the morning and evening adhkar (Islamic remembrances), a prayer counter, and prayer times. It runs on iOS and Android.

The app is published by Ultim8Soft. We are the data controller responsible for the app under applicable privacy law. You can reach us at contact@ultim8soft.com, or through the website at www.ultim8soft.com.

This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the Azkar app only. It does not cover third-party services the app links to, which have their own policies.

2. The short version

Azkar does not need an account, does not ask for your name or email, and does not store the adhkar you read on any server. Your religious practice stays on your phone.

Three things do involve data:

Anonymous usage statistics. Google Analytics counts things like how often the app is opened and which screens are used, so we can improve it. This data is aggregated and is not linked to your identity.
Advertising. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads. You can limit or opt out of personalized ads, and a paid upgrade removes ads entirely.
Optional location for prayer times. If you choose, the app uses a non-precise (city-level) location to calculate prayer times. This happens entirely on your device and the location is never sent to us or anyone else. You can instead pick a city by hand and no location access is needed at all.

That is the whole picture. The sections below give the detail and your rights.

3. What stays on your device

Everything that makes Azkar yours is stored locally on your phone and is never transmitted to Ultim8Soft or any third party. This includes:

Your language and theme preferences.
Your prayer counter progress and any settings you change.
Your selected city or location setting for prayer times.
The adhkar content itself, which is bundled with the app and works offline.

We have no account system and no backend that syncs this data. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

4. Optional location for prayer times

Prayer times depend on where you are. Azkar gives you two ways to set this:

Approximate location. You may grant the app permission to use your approximate (non-precise, city-level) location. The app uses it only to work out which city you are near so it can calculate prayer times. This calculation happens on your device. The location is never uploaded to Ultim8Soft, never shared with advertisers, and never used for anything except calculating prayer times.
Manual city selection. You can instead pick a city from the built-in list. If you do, the app does not request location permission at all.

We do not collect your precise (GPS) location, and we never will. You can change or remove location access at any time in your device's settings; the app will simply fall back to your chosen city.

5. Analytics (Google Analytics)

Azkar uses Google Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it.

The information collected includes things like:

Whether the app was opened, and how often.
Which screens and features are used.
Rough technical details such as device type, operating system version, and app version.
A coarse geographic region derived from your IP address. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.

This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with your adhkar activity. Where required by law, analytics run only after you consent.

6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Azkar shows advertisements served by Google AdMob. The ads pay for the app so the core experience can stay free.

To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may process:

Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android).
Your IP address.
Coarse information about your device and app activity related to ads.

In regions that require it, including the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before serving personalized ads. You can decline personalized ads, and you can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the app's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier, or disable personalized ads, through your device or Google's Ads Settings.

A paid upgrade removes advertisements entirely. When you upgrade, AdMob stops serving ads to you and the advertising data processing above no longer applies.

7. Purchases

If you buy the ad-free upgrade, the purchase is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Billing), not by us. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple and Google process your purchase under their own privacy policies.

8. What we do not collect

To be explicit, Azkar does not collect:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any account details. There is no account.
The adhkar you read or the content of your practice.
Your precise location.
Your contacts, photos, messages, call logs, or any other content on your device.
Your payment card details.

We do not sell personal information. We have no list of users to sell, because we do not hold one.

9. How we use information and our legal bases

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process personal information on the following legal bases:

Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for personalized advertising and, where required, for analytics and for the optional use of your approximate location.
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for basic aggregated analytics, app security, and preventing fraud, where these do not override your rights.
Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) for the core functionality you install the app for, such as displaying adhkar and calculating prayer times.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

10. Third parties we share data with

The only third parties that receive data from the app are Google's advertising and analytics services, described above:

Google AdMob for advertising.
Google Analytics (Firebase) for anonymous usage statistics.

We do not sell your personal information. Because advertising identifiers are shared with Google to deliver ads, some US state privacy laws may treat this as a form of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; see the California section below for how to opt out.

11. How long we keep data

Data stored on your device stays there until you delete the app or reset it. Aggregated analytics data is retained by Google in accordance with its standard retention settings and is not tied back to you.

12. International data transfers

Google may process advertising and analytics data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including Google's standard contractual clauses and data processing terms. Where we rely on consent, that consent covers the transfer.

13. Children's privacy

Azkar is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the relevant age of consent in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Restrict or object to processing.
Receive your information in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these, email contact@ultim8soft.com. We respond within the timeframe required by law.

15. Your rights (California and other US states)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.
Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

The categories of personal information the app may collect are: identifiers (your device's advertising identifier), internet or electronic network activity (analytics and ad interaction data), commercial information (if you make a purchase, handled by Apple or Google), and approximate geolocation (only on your device, to calculate prayer times).

We do not sell personal information and we do not collect sensitive personal information such as precise geolocation. The advertising identifier shared with Google for ads may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out by limiting personalized ads in the app, or by using your device controls: on iOS, enable "Ask Apps Not to Track" or reset your advertising identifier; on Android, delete your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization. 16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change how the app works or when the law changes. The latest version is always published at this page, with the date of last update shown at the top. If a change is material, we will draw your attention to it in the app where appropriate.
